My Story

Hi, I’m Rebecca, most people call me Bex, so you can too.

I'm 34 years old and live in Yorkshire, UK, with my husband, Chris, and
our Border Collie, Nell.

I was diagnosed with PCOS as a teenager, but beyond being given a
diagnosis, I wasn't given much else. Throughout my twenties, I struggled to
understand what PCOS really meant, how it could affect my body, or how simple
lifestyle changes could help manage my symptoms. Like so many women, I was left
to figure it all out on my own.

Looking back, I now realise that many of the choices I was making
weren't supporting my hormones or my long-term health—but I simply didn't know.
There wasn't the information, guidance or encouragement that I desperately
needed, and I often felt overwhelmed, frustrated and alone.

As the years went on, PCOS became more than just irregular cycles or
difficult symptoms. It began to affect my confidence, my mental wellbeing and,
eventually, my fertility. My husband and I have now been trying to conceive for
three years, and that journey has brought its own heartbreak, hope and
resilience. It has taught me that living with PCOS isn't just about managing
symptoms—it's about caring for your whole self, physically and emotionally.

Despite the challenges, I truly love my life. I'm a positive person who
believes that PMOS does not define who we are or what we're capable of. But I
also know that some days are hard, and it's okay to admit that. Living with PMOS
can be exhausting, confusing and, at times, incredibly isolating.

That's why I created Thrive.

I wanted to build the kind of support I wish I'd had all those years
ago—a place where women and young girls can feel heard, understood and
empowered. A place filled with practical tools, trusted information and gentle
encouragement to help you better understand your body, make sustainable
lifestyle changes and feel more in control of your journey.

If Thrive helps even one woman feel less alone, more informed or more
hopeful than I did all those years ago, then every late night creating it has
been worth it.

Thank you for being here. I hope Thrive becomes a small part of your
journey, and a reminder that no matter where you are today, you don't have to
face PMOS alone.

Together, we will
Thrive!

What is PMOS ?

Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS), formerly known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), is a complex hormonal and metabolic condition that affects multiple systems throughout the body. While it is often associated with the ovaries, PMOS can also influence hormone balance, insulin regulation, metabolism and inflammation. Symptoms can include irregular or absent periods, excess hair growth, acne, hair thinning, weight changes, fatigue and difficulties with ovulation. For some women, this can make it more challenging to conceive, but many people with PMOS go on to have healthy pregnancies with the right support. As PMOS affects every woman differently, understanding your own body and making sustainable lifestyle choices can play an important role in managing symptoms and supporting your long-term health.
